Aussie Spots = Seasonal layers?

My aussie spots came from Holderread this spring.

They are greenhead and I haven't receive eggs from the duck.

They were born on April, 28 2009.

Here is the girl.

Here is the boy.

Here they are together with silky ducks.

You can really see the Khaki Campbell in the Hybrids, and Mallard coloring too.
Your Australian Spotteds are beautiful!!

Are they a cross breed or created breed of something?

Haven't heard of them (though thats not that shocking

Here's from one of the best breeders in the US about Australian Spotted ducks:

It's was developed using the wild Northern Pintail and "an unidentified Australian duck possessing spotted plumage," with the Mallard and the Call.

My babies from this year are not laying yet either, I just figuered it would be next spring. I hatched out 4 females (one blue, 3 greens) from a member here on BYC so then I got a beautiful silverhead drake from Holderread's last month. Hopefully will have some beautiful babies next spring !

Are your Spotties demanding? My group is sooooooooooooo demanding. Food now. Water now. Change my pool water now. Geesh! And loud!!!! Holy cow! Glad they're cute!
