Alternatively, you could post a "want" ad on Craigslist, saying that you would like to buy a bike, something along the lines of a Mongoose Rebel.

Although, this would only work if the bike has definite characteristics that would make it recognizable in a photo.

**This can also be a lesson, anything that you own that you feel might get stolen should be marked. This includes bikes, ATVs, Dirt Bikes, Lawn Mowers, etc. carve or mark something (such as your phone number) in an out of the way place. Get pictures of you doing this, and pictures of the phone number on the item, as well as the item itself. That way if you are able to find who stole it, the police will be able to identify the item as yours, making it easier to reclaim it.**

This happened to me last year! I had just gotten my son a new bike for Christmas and he was out riding in in the spring. Now, we share a driveway with 3 other neighbors and we sit about 1/4 of a mile back off the road. He had gone down the end of our drive, not all the way down, but right to where our horse fencing stops, he couldn't get the kickstand up again so he ran up to tell me. I finished making dinner and then we walked down and NO BIKE! It was gone! He was so upset! We have no other neighbors and not near a neighborhood, so we were puzzled. It turns out, my neighbor that we share the drive with, their kids stole it and hid in in their backyard! The next day I saw their kid out on it!!!!

I really hope someone returns it, it is so hard as a parent to see you child upset like that!
