Australian Spotted ducks

If they were blue heads, the males head wouldn’t have any tint if green in it. It would be turning almost a full black looking color until it’s molt was complete and then its like a very dark navy blue. The female blue heads are typically much more gold in color too 🤓 very nice pair though. Can’t wait to get these again this year.

I haven't compared them side by side, but Hemmie almost definitely is. Downey may be a hair bigger, but not much. In this pic, they are both on the same side of a 24x24 cage (I put two cages side by side and added on to the top, and the little nesting box/hidey hole annex for Hemmie to have her own spot when Downey is a little too amarous) so you can kind of estimate. Downey is about 4 inches long. I will try and see if I can get a tape measure out later, when we aren't all napping. ;):caf

I'm defiantly tempted. I would just have to clip a wing like I do with my scovy. I could get eggs and let my Muscovy hatch and then what a cute site seeing a Muscovy mama and tiny call ducklings. ❤
I have baby pictures if you need convincing!!! Downey was a late bloomer. We were afraid he wasn't going to make it, at first!
