1817!! That's awesome! How much do you think old coins will end up being worth?
I have a lot of English coins, and some money from Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong... lots of weird places like that

We have travelled a helluva lot

I'd love to find old coins though, I haven't been alive long enough to have gone through any significant currency changes.

Yes i was, we were right smack bang in the middle of it all. Luckily for me we live on the side of the hill so our house was not flooded but we were stuck in our acerage for over a week. Our little town like so many here went under so we had no fuel or ways to buy food for nearly 2 weeks. In saying all of that we faired much better then our neighbouring towns of grantham, toowoomba etc.

At least the house wasn't flooded, that's always good to hear

I saw so much footage on the news of all the destruction up there... it looked pretty bad.
I guess this is why people stockpile food, huh? If I were cut off from the supermarkets, our food would probably last for four or five days at most!

Congrats on your gold membership.

Thanks, Satay

I'm thinking of making some polls to take advantage of the GFM: I need some ideas!

Lucky for us living in a country town we know alot of our neighbours so we did alot of food swapping. I had an abundance of eggs so they were swapped for milk and bread and other things so we did ok food wise. It was more the mums with babies on formula and needing nappies. You just could not get any and when we finally got out of our little town to gatton you could not go any further and there was no food at the big coles there as nothing could get in our out as both highways were cut. Was not something we thought would ever happen out here as we are usually the towns that don't get rain.

Yeah, I guess that's one of the upsides of having chickens, huh?

They'll keep laying for ya through all weather... (well, mine do anyhow. They know no limits!

I heard about the highways being cut off.

They were trying to ship stuff in, weren't they? I gather that wasn't very successful.
I guess Australia is a whole bunch of extremes, huh? That's one thing I noticed that's quite different to the UK. Over there, it's just heavy rain and overcast all year round. Here we go from droughts to floods in less than 12 months. It's insane!

Towns must be a great atmosphere. I have to say country living does have its perks in that respect

Does anyone else upload to youtube? I have only just started recently and am amazed at just how long it takes. Right now I have a short pie- just over a minute- that looks like it will take 40 minutes to load. Is that normal??

I kinda need to get a video onto Youtube, it's for a school project, but I'm not sure how that's going to work! I only get a set amount of internet credit here...

Hello Nicola
frow.gif

Have we met?
I'm Liz. *extends hand*

I'm trying to remember the BSB No. for my bank account. What is a BSB no.? Is it that six-digit thing that goes before your account number?
I'm with ANZ, if that helps.

Hello Liz, no we haven't met before I haven't really been active on here for a while, been busy with school

A BSB number (or Bank/State/Branch number) It can sometimes be found on your bank statement. Or when (if you have it) You log onto online banking, it can sometimes be found somewhere there
smile.png
On mine it is anyway. You might have to call your bank during business hours to find out
