Can't wait to see pictures of your borders Ducky. Count down is on for me too. Mine go into lock down on friday. I had a quick candle of a couple yesterday and i think they look pretty good so far so hopefully monday not this week but the next Ducky I may have a little better news to share.

Does anybody know where to get both golden pheasant eggs and white peacock eggs?

I'd prefer local pickup for things so, erm, rare? (not rare just... I guess the eggs make me nervous when shipped!).

Hubby just bought me a Hovabator since I've been so upset and told me to go out and get some white peacock eggs immediately. :3

Good luck with those eggs....

Elizabethbinary - I have seen pheasant eggs advertised before- as well as adult white Peacocks- I will keep my eye out and let you know if I see some up your way.

Not too sure about those in other states... But Victoria has a long weekend ... Off to make the most of it as its great weather down here.....

There is a young guy down here in Victoria I bought some Quail from a while ago who had Golden Pheasants. Not too sure if he still has any- or if they are laying- but I will find out for you. Also see them pop up from time to time on Farmstock-

Well the ducks are Mallards- 2 Blue Fawn - & 2 dusky females- but I am not too sure on the males- they are a little cross colour looking. Nice birds though- sure wish I could keep the blue fawns.

Sorry I've taken so long to reply, glad you did so well at the sale. Congrats on that little pullet, she must have been a beauty!

Your duckling is super cute, can't wait to see her when she's all grown up.

I am surprised the Silkies didn't sell, usually people snap them up. I'm hoping for a pair out of the 3 I hatched. A trio would make me super happy. Already know 2 of the 3 Pekins I hatched are boys.

Off to catch up on the rest of the thread.

Here are the temporary visitors.

Its a little weird having ducks that are afraid of me. I cant get near them without going crazy- and they are even noisier than all of mine put together!!!! It just makes me realise that all the work I put into my own ducks is so worth while to keep them in a state where they are so easily handled. They are pretty though. Hope I can find great homes for them all.

YAY an Aussie thread !!!

Another here, from Poowong East in Victoria (specifically)

I am just starting out with chooks and hope one day to also have a goose or two and a few ducks, I believe duck eggs make excellent cakes and with a 16 month old there are sure to be plenty of birthday cakes to be baked
