Australorp: 14 weeks. No crowing. But is it a boy? Or girl?

14 weeks. No crowing. But is it a boy? Or girl?

Here they are together. I just don't know with these blacks. Any help would be awesome.

The australorp is a cockerel. Male.
Dang. I was ever hopeful he'd be a she.
Of course when we got them we named them Sam and Dean Chickchester so I guess we may have cursed them male from the start. When I looked up australorps, the females were nearly identical to him, so I was hoping he'd be a female too. It's just odd that nobody is crowing yet.

Sam( the black jersey giant) has the carriage and posture of a hen but Dean (the lorp) has always been a little more strutty thought surprisingly the most gentle of the two as well.

It just clearly is. The way the waddle and comb are already much larger than most hens' combs and waddles. If it were a hen, it would not have developed combs and waddles by 14 weeks of age. Also, the saddle feathers developing on the bird that hens do not have. And lastly, its upward stance. The bird is taller and broader than a hen. A pullet's tail feathers would go upward, while young, developing cockerels will point downward while developing the long feathers.

From those photos I can jot see the saddle or hackle feathers on the Australorp. A male will have obviously pointy feathers in those areas by 14 weeks.

Here is a few daylight pics just to clear up confusion.

Them both. The australorp is on the left there. Still neither is crowing. I figured they were both old enough to do it by now if they were male.
