They are beauties I love black and red on chickens. I see pic. 1 is a roo in the middle, #5 roo in back, #10 roo on the left. The way to tell is esp. at this age is to look at the pointed sex feathers in their neck(hackles),back(saddle), tail and wing bows these are called rooster feathers. And if not sure they should be really close to telling you themselves probably about 3:30 to 4: 30 am some day. You'll Know believe you me.

Are they all the same age / same hatch? How old were they when you got them?

I think the ones you've pointed out are all hens.

I only have a couple Aussies, but mine seemed to mature quickly and get a red comb early...it might be that yours are even younger than 23 weeks...

They are suppose to be 26 weeks, they were suppose to be 13 weeks when I got them, but I too, thought that they should have larger and redder comb and wattles by now. They are suppose to be the same age....... so, your guess is as good as mine on that. It's seems that there are different ages to me. Some are smaller than the others. I have one Roo that is huge compared to them and the other two are about the same size. I have one Roo that is suppose to be 28 weeks, but he looked like a hen up until about a month ago. I was shocked to see the saddle and hackle feathers develop so fast out of no where.

Thank you! I hope they are all pullets. I am incubating some of Hinkjc's lavender orp eggs right now. I have 12 out of 16 developing. I am going to breed for Lavender Australorps.
