Australorp from Tractor Supply Truly an Australorp?

Sorry, I know this a really old thread, but can you give more details on the white spot you mentioned? I haven't heard of this yet and want to keep an eye out.

Yes! Apparently the white spot on top of a barred rocks head is a tell tale sign of that breed. I’ll put a picture of the barred rock chick and the Australorp as well so you can see! Poppy is the barred rock and Lorpy is the australorp. You can spot Poppy in every picture I posted, haha!

It’s interesting because Black Australorps end up all black but as babies the have quite a bit of light fuzz all over. Where the barred rock is mostly black with that cute white spot on their head.
