I have three Australorps (all black, don't know if they come in other colors). Two have pinkish combs coming in and the third has a black comb. Is this normal? Will they all end up being the same color?

I searched for an Australorp thread to check out pics but couldn't find one.

They're still young, right?

I'm assuming they're still young because yes that is normal - Most black chickens can have that trait pop up in young pullets, even my Marans and Araucanas have black combs at a young age if they have enough black pigment.

They are 7 1/2 wks old. I don't have any pics...I don't know why. I have pics of all my other chicks but realized I haven't taken a single one of them.

I have Black Austrolorps (not show quality; mine are from a hatchery) and I have roosters with red and with a combination of red and black. Here's some pictures I have taken:

These roosters do not have a solid black comb but they have "spatterings" of black.

This rooster has a solid red comb with no black.

I wish I could help you; just thought I'd show you what I had.

That's funny, I noticed that just tonight on mine. They are 4 weeks. They don't really have any comb at all but the little nubbin is pure black.

The above bird looks nothing like an Australorp, wrong shape, wrong tail, wrong comb, wrong coloured eyes, colour in the neck hackle, it looks more like a Game cross. The people that sold you that as an Australorp should be ashamed.
