Australorp laying outside

I have 2 BA's that have always used the nesting boxes or at least the coop to lay their eggs. I have five girls: 2 BA's, 2 LB's and 1 bantam EE. If the bantam lays first, it is on the floor of the coop just under the nesting boxes and that is where they will all lay.

If one of the others goes first and it is in a nesting box then that is where they all lay including the bantam. I don't understand, but I accept it. Gotta love those chickens.

Every outside nest I've found from the chickens I have, after I get the eggs a couple of days they abandon the nest and go for another one. After a week or so of that they are slowly going back to the coop to lay. I found 14 eggs in one nest the 7 in another. I thought one or two were going broody but not so. Which is good. I don't have the facility for any more chicks right now. I have some building to do.
