Lucy (Lucifer) is almost a year old (Hatched June 22). I have not shown him, nor do I know whether he is show quality or not. I've be informed via BYC that he might place at a local show, but I don't have any interest in showing chickens. He needs more hens than my 7. He would make a great free-range rooster, as he's very protective of his flock. He needs to be handled daily if you don't want him to challenge you. Because of his protective instincts, he SHOULD NOT go to a home with small children. I haven't had any troubles with him and kids, but I don't trust him. I don't want him to go straight to a dinner plate, because if I wanted him killed, I would have done it myself.
