Which one will lay the most amount of big eggs? Which one has a better temperament. Are there any big pros/cons for these breeds?

Thanks

I think Austalopes hold the record for most eggs layed by a hen. Thats all I can help you with. Good luck with which one you go with.

Yes, a Black Australorp holds the world record for egg laying: 364 eggs in 365 days. However, his has never been repeated and is most definitely not typical for the breed.

Henderson's Chicken Breed Chart says that they lay roughly the same. It also goes on to note that laying frequency is only partially influenced by breed.

The Buff Orpington has a reputation for being particularly well-suited as a pet, although Plymouth Rocks are pretty docile too (remember that we are talking generally here: individual birds may very well be different). Both are deservedly quite popular.
