Im thinking about getting a black australorp or a golden laced wyandotte. I want an astralorp because of its excellent egg production. But australorps are a broody breed and I dont want to deal with a broody hen (I have no roosters). I want a wyandotte because of its hardiness and very good egg production. Plus they look pretty. But Ive heard that they can be bossy and aggressive. I think im going with the australorp but breaking a broody hen is something I dont want to do at all. On the other hand, I dont want an aggressive hen. Any suggestions on which breed to get?

I have a black australorp and a columbian wyandotte. They are both very good egg layers, but the australorp does go broody easy. She is very tame and easy to handle, where as the wyandotte is more skittish. She doesn't care if I take her eggs away from her when she is broody. The Wayandotte just adopted two chicks and is a great and attentive mother though, and was broody, but not as much as the Austalorp. I like both breeds, but would give my vote to Australorp, because I love a friendly bird.
