Still trying to figure out my chicks.... have 2 of these...the other one has brown on the face and BOTH now having brown showing up in their wings??? Was told these 2 might be Australorps?? If not, what could they be?

We bought them from Southern States and that is who told us they were Australorps.. However I went in today again, they had some with white spots on their heads JUST LIKE MY OTHER 4 and were told they were ALL Australorp pullets...

Here you can see the ones with the white spots on heads..... We bought all 6 at same time, 4 had white spots, 2 didn't but we were told they are ALL Australorps..

Lots of black mystery chicks this year. The hatcheries are turning out some odd combinations with which we are not familiar.
I can say that the little ones in your last photo look like Barred Rock. The yellow legs are not a 'Lorp characteristic. The fun continues on what all these black mixes are.

Those do not look like Australorps. Here are some photos of Australorp chicks. Notice the white on the chest.

I don't know for sure. I suspect the solid black ones with the brown are black sex link pullets. That could explain the brown/red in with the black. Those black legs do have me confused on that though.

I'm not going to guess on the ones with the spots. That often means a barred chicken, but I'm not familiar with barred rocks. I hope so.

the two black with brown are likley Black Sex Link, excellent brown egg layers...... theothers look more like barred rock chiks than australorp, although still not sure that's what they are!
