In general they are an easy going friendly breed. Individuals personality can differ with some being more friendly than others.

I concur. I have several. "Jumbo" & almost pinkish brown eggs. Reliable layers too.

Well, I you are asking from my experience, and my experience only australorps are wonderful birds to have around. My Ausralorps lay like crazy, and start from a pretty early age too. There temperaments are great too, letting me hold and pet them (unless they are of course broody, then all bets are off) I'm hoping that you will find my experience with Australorps just as good as mine!!

I have been breeding and raising Black Australorps since 2013 and they are still a must have chicken on my farm .

I LOVE my Black Australorps! They aren't usually super snuggle like my Barred Rock or Olive Eggers, but the are kind, docile and sweet. They love being pet, just aren't so crazy about being picked up. I actually just ordered more. Super sweet girls. Definitely a breed I will always keep on my flock.

I did a research paper on them and apparently they are very friendly, even the roosters
