Automated coop door training

New to chickens this year. I have 3 week old chicks and I have a question about automated doors on the coop. How do the chickens all know to get into coop before the door would shut automatically?

Once they learn to come into coop for roosting near dark it shouldn't be a problem, but that might take quite awhile. You'll have to close door manually until you're sure they are complaint.

My door is on timer and set for after sunset, so gives them plenty of wiggle room. Until chicks learn that the coop is for sleeping in, I make sure to gather them up at sunset and manually put them in, but thankfully since I have adults the chicks quickly learn from watching the adults go in.
