i posted this in the duck forum but i think this is more suitable..

I know this is been discussed but I want the latest opinion and what works for ducks.I want the best Design on both Water and feed I've looked at several "poultry" designs ie. barrels And 5 gallon buckets But as we know Ducks do a number on their food by turning it into a slurry or paste. Is there something That can be built to keep the food clean and dry? Is it an option to keep The water A safe distance away From the food so they can't dunk The water into the food but it's still close enough That they can drink while eating and not choke...

i like the bucket design with the elbow/street..if someone tells me this truely works for ducks let me know if a which fitting works best...ie elbow, sweep, 90,...

Please advis

I feed my ducks completely seperate from their water. Like 6+ feet away. They just pick up a mouth full of food and walk over to the water. Swallow, get a drink, repeat. Yes I see bits of food when I drain and refill the pond but that is what works for me.

My ducks have a small lake to play, bathe, swim in ect. They walk 10ft to the food troff, eat as much as they want, and walk back down to get a drink from the lake with no problem. It's fine to separate your ducks food and water but not by a lot and make sure they always have access to both. Also, it's nice if they have something to bathe/swim in.
