Automatic Chicken Doors

Mine is electric and I love it, have had no issues. It opens and closes on a timer every morning/night. The girls have only been locked out once and that was when they were first out in the coop and getting used to when to go in.

Mine was about 250 including shipping I think and a breeze to install. It came with the frame for inside and out along with the treshold. Only needed a drill to install it after we cut the door hole. It even came with a template for cutting the hole.

I like your coop door! Where's the rest of the coop?

We're in the process of building a new coop and I ordered an automatic door. My husband was a little concerned about the price and the reliability, but I think staying in bed in the morning and not having to rush home at night are worth every penny. We'll see how the girls do when they're moved into their new home.

Thank you for the suggestions. Seems like almost everyone loves them. I plan to be home most of the times but occcasionally I am out past dusk and worry about my chickens. I don't like to have to find someone to lock them up on those occassions. Also, getting up at 6:00am on the weekends to let them out is getting to be a pain. They make alot of noise and I worry about my neighbors complaining.

Does anyone have any feedback on Foy's Pet Supplies and their doors? I am considering them also.

Thanks
Mary
