I have been searching thru past threads to get an idea for an automatic coop door.
The threads that I have been finding all seemed to be dated 2 or 3 years ago.

Can anyone recommend a auto coop door?
Which ones are the most reliable, which ones you had trouble with.

I am looking at purchasing one of the doors below:

Please let me know what you think!!

How funny - I've just been researching these myself for my new coop. I like the one at Fleming Outdoors and also the one called Poultry Butler (I just did a google search for automatic chicken door and those both came up on the first page of results). The Poultry Butler site has a 15-minute video demonstrating installation and operation, that I've just finished watching. I can't vouch for either since I haven't ordered yet but do like that the Poultry Butler has the option to either work on a light sensor OR a timer, and runs off electricity instead of battery.

I am waiting for the Incredible Poultry Door by Fall Harvest Products. It has the best type of mechanism. It has been my experience that some of the doors out there open and close using a wire or worst a string. I had one jam up on me and I lost five birds. I am lucky it wasn't more than that.

Fall Harvest Products has a poultry door they have been working on for awhile but for once it looks like it was done right. It uses a screw drive just like a garage door opener. No string to get jammed up!

It is finally ready to pre-order and you bet your bantams I signed up for mine!
