Does anyone know of a reliable USA made door that has worked well for them? Not really into making it myself and seems like not alot of savings by doing that anyway after the mistakes I'd be making. I've been looking through the threads but not alot out there and of course each company says there's is the best with reviews any to steer clear of?

Here is the door I finally decided on: chickendoors.com

Automatic pullet-shut door.

Pros:
Very easy to install. Took me :12 minutes
No vertical track to keep clean
Predators cannot open it like a vertical door
Vertical door requires twice the coop wall height
All aluminum and brass, impervious to weather
Optional solar activator is flawless
Optional solar battery charger eliminates need for 110V power

Cons:
More costly than the best vertical door

Honestly, the first time the door actuated my sticker shock went away. I cannot recommend this door highly enough.

Disclaimer: my relationship with the manufacturer is that of a single satisfactory product purchase.

Thanks for the responses, I am really leaning towards pullet it shut, auto door solar, with above all a light sensor. Wow. Can it truly be amazing...I can go on vacation.

RE: I've had this one for over 2 years and couldn't be happier with it.

It's easy to install and program, and very sturdy with all metal construction. Mine has been tested by just about every predator short of a bear with no issues at all.

I've got the Pullet Shut door, solar powered, photo sensor, and can't say enough good things about it. I'm gonna really love it this winter!

That's exactly what I needed to know...I think I will spring for the entire package...my chickens will be happy, my neighbor will be happy, I will be happy, just didn't want to get junk or a lemon! And it's made it good old USA too. Sold.

Just a matter of time before my chickens figure out how to open mine. I wouldn't do it. LMBO ......did you see mine? Homemade but it works great. Remote controlled from the house.
