Im trying to build my own, and Im handy enough. I just dont know what kind of motor to buy for this application. Is it a stepper motor? Is it a gear-reduction motor? Someone with experience or expertise in electronics please advise. Ive heard car antenna motors will work, but dont have the vertical space for that setup.
Im just wondering what kind of motor to look for at the store? I want the motor to swing the door open and closed about 90 degrees of arc. I dont care for the doors that raise and lower on strings or cables, because the tracks seem like they'd be trouble or the door would stick. A door that opens just as for humans seems best in my situation. Id be running it from a lamp timer and 110v AC. I can do simple wiring, but not sure what kind of motor I should be hunting for....
