We fit a lot of Auto Pop Hole Door Openers to our Chicken Coops as well as use them ourselves on our own Chicken Housing. We find them invaluable and work really well as well as being robust. Our Chicken Coops come with the sliding door arrangement already fitted as standard so no need to buy the sliding rails/door/pulleys etc.

Back in May we ordered the auto door opener from Foy and have been nothing but pleased. Depending on the circumstance, I have read grumbles about it opening before full light and closing too far into dusk, but our chickens have not only been fine but very happy. Of course I have dogs that also roam the yard they range in, so predators are somewhat stymied.

Alpha Roo, , I usually call the girls as a group. All I need to say is "come on, girls", and they all come running! What a funny sight: lol:
I trained them to miniature animal crackers, and Teddy grahams, that's why they come running. They know they're getting food ;o) When I give them their treats, I call each one by name, and give them their treat. They DO know their names, 'cause the one I call comes and gets her treat. The others do try to horn in, of course. I am really glad I trained them, 'cause a couple of times I needed to put them in their run when they were free-ranging. I called them, threw their treats in the run, they ran in, and I shut the gate. How easy is that?!!

Got my door from Foy's. It is the best investment I've made in the coop! I don't have to worry that I forgot to let them out in the am(or have to get up early to do it) or be home before it gets dark to close them up. I can go away for a few day and don't have to find someone to take care of them.
