Automatic egg turner necessary?

OK, I'm almost a little more confused about the egg turner now

But it sounds like it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one. Thanks guys!

Hi! Just to un-confuse you:
If you are available to hand-turn three times a day and can remember to hand-turn three times a day, you don't need a turner

Adding a fan will only increase your hatch rate because it should eliminate (or at least decrease) cool / hot spots in your incubator.

It seems that you could just prop you incubator up on one side then prop it up on the other side about an hour later, thats all my turners do,is go from side to side

hey i am very busy with school and dreadfully forgetful and i hand turn mine, and i usually get a 70-90 % hatch rate and that is with the thermal air flow one.

Well if you had turn them, you could had a 95 to 100% hatch.

Turning does give a better hatch rate. with fewer deform chicks.

and what is that supposed to mean i have only had one deform chick from who knows how many eggs and it was not my fault they were shipped (

and cost $45 to boot

Not knocking the way you hatch. But turning does give better hatch rates, and not turning will give you chicks with leg problems, more dead in the shell on the last day. But do what you think works best for you incubator and type of eggs.

Difference in eggs type. Hard not to get guineas eggs not to hatch.Turkey and peafowl eggs need lots more care.

I set peafowl eggs under gamehen first week and get about 5 % highter rate, before they died the last day before hatching. Watch my game hens turn the eggs. More than my GQF sportmans auto turner.

Just getting the info out, yes you can hatch some without turning.

Been proved over and over turning does help for a higher hatch rate.
