Automatic Treadle Feeder

Hi... Advice required. My husband has built a fantastic treadle feeder for our girls but we just can't get them to use it. They did step on the peddle a couple of times but they get freaked out!

Any suggestions on how to get them to use it? The girls are 24 weeks, not laying yet ;(

When they get hungry enough, they'll figure it out.

Or you could go out there and help them step on it and throw in a favorite treat. That would keep them coming back.

Have you tried proping the lip open for a few days? Then half way open...

grandpa is proud of his feeder. How does he keep ants out of it?

wouldn't the ants be extra protein for them??
