Automatically bidding on Ebay? EBAY HELP!!

One thing you need to know if you bid on ebay. Sometimes the seller or a freind of the seller will have an amount set to bid on already in. So if you are bidding on something and they have a set amount set, you bid 1.00, they have a bid set for $5.00, their bid will automically outbid you. So if you put in $40.00 and they put in $50.00, you'll get outbid. I hope Im explaining this properly. They do this to increase the amount they will get for thier item up for sale. When I started bidding on Ebay, I figured this out pretty quickly so I would wait until the last 30 seconds of the bid and put in mine, and I always won. Just be carefull bidding because they have it set up sometimes to outbid you even though you are a legitimate bidder.

There is another "secret weapon" when it comes to bidding on Ebay and that's using something like eSnipe.com (www.esnipe.com). There is one downside to using sites such as this: you have to provide them with your login info. I will say that I've used eSnipe many times and have never had any issues with them. The way it works is that you tell them what auction you are interested in. It then waits until the last second to place your bid for you. It's really no different than doing it yourself, but for those auctions that end at 3:42 a.m. it can be a life saver. It also helps eliminate needless bidding wars. It's not a sure fire guarantee that you'll win, but it helps.

The basic bidding rules still apply. If you tell eSnipe you are willing to pay up to $50 and somebody has their max bid set to $55 then you're going to lose the auction. It can be a really helpful tool, though. And you can always go and change your main password to Ebay when you're done if you have any security concerns. It does cost to use eSnipe, but it's only a few bucks for several auctions. It's worth checking into.

A few years ago I say a very PQ/hatchery quality silkie sell on eggbid for 4 figures (not including any decimal points!) due to automatic bidding by at least two people. That bird was worth maybe $10. No way would I EVER use automatic bidding. I would rather contact a breeder directly for what I want.
