I know exactly what you're going through right now because I've been there, too.

I'm sorry for your loss. You'll be in my prayers for comfort tonight.

I am so sorry. In January 2007 my cat was let out one night and went missing. I miss her so much. Her mother and sister still go outside though. I adopted a kitten that I fostered, and she wont be going outside. I dont trust her personality. She is a little bit ditzy. When she was a week old she almost died from pneoumina, and I think the lack of oxygen killed some of her brain cells.

I think it is so sick that somebody could knowingly (sp?) hit an animal and just keep on going. It really makes me sick. I could never do that.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my best childhood friend about 3 years Ago.... She was 17 and still healthy as can be... but some stray Dogs got her one night and tossed her like a rag doll.. Neighbors saw but were too scared to break the pack of dogs up for her. I don't blame them though, a pack can be dangerous. Well, I did not think I would want another cat after "Sassie" but my son wanted a Kitty and so we now have had Lollipop for almost 2 years now and she is one fun character. Cats are really good friends! Your Autumn sounds like she was a great girl to have around I am so sorry.

I am very sorry for your loss. Sounds like you gave your cat a very comfortable home and you did your best. It's impossible to understand why these kind of things happen...I have also mourned pets and all I can say is it will take time but you will get through it. I also believe we will see our pets again. I have to believe that to get through the loss of one.

Thank you all for your comforting words - I do have 2 boys from Autumn (Gypsy and Little One) - I think it's starting to hit my children about what happened last night - Little One ran out the door and all three youngest children and a couple of their friends rounded him back up and tossed him back into the house.

Neither of these boys are anything like Autumn, though.

So sorry. We had one of our cats get hit on the road. The gal was flying and hit him so hard I heard it in the house with the windows and doors shut. We live on a deadend road and when she turned around and came back through she stopped and was looking at him. I walked up and asked if she was going to stop in and tell us so we could take care of him. It had never occurred to her to do that even though he was still alive. She had only hit him in the backend, which didn't kill him but, he was in bad shape.
