Yes. I have a neighbor who lives a few blocks away from me keeping their chickens in this setup:View attachment 3040898Sorry, pic is kind of blurry - I took it while driving by but those tarps they put over their coop have GIANT holes ripped in the sides of them…Yikes 😬
This may not look great, but seems better than many around me as these people have taken steps to cover their run and protect their birds, at least a bit. Some nearby me don't house their chickens at all, but let them run free and roost wherever they can find a spot. While there are some benefits to keeping them so free, they get picked off nonstop by various predators and their plan is to just start over if their birds get AI, with no consideration for their neighbors' birds.

Ok, you'll see why I bribed the poor neighbors with eggs! I tried to keep it as un-trashy as I could using clear plastic instead of tarps. But it is what it is.

This hoop is attached to the side of their small covered run which is attached to the coop. It sits inside the large 1200 sf run. The back side of the hoop is the 6 foot fence to the run. The front side toward the camera is the plastic deer netting, you can't really see it - too many fences involved! & over me is the regular bird netting, so I'm standing in the big run taking the pic. If that makes sense.

In this pic I'm in a small sick run I have behind the coop, they can get from this covered hoop to the front one by going under the coop. The plastic deer netting is in front facing me. I'm standing in the small sick run taking the pic.

I diverted the run off from the coop gutters, normally it collects into a rain barrel but it's too cold for that so for now the gutter runs way out. It's not perfect, I'm sure, but it's what I had to work with for now & it gives them a lot more space.

I have no idea if that makes any sense at all, I'm not a good explainer! & they follow me wherever I go so it makes it look like I have a lot more birds than I do. :gig

They sure did. But to clarify it was the CT Dept of Ag, not the feds. I had chicks shipped in the fall so they have it on record I have birds here. She wouldn't give me tons of info, I got more on the APHIS site than I did from the agent, but I believe it was because the culled birds were within 10 miles of me.
@Sueby, can I ask what CT county you’re in? I haven’t yet heard of any culling happening anywhere in the state. are you in either of the facebook CT chicken groups? heard no mention of this so far! thanks.

That’s a very neat setup!
