Avian pox in quails

I need some advice
one of my quail showed symptoms of avian pox, I already have it separated. I have 6 week old quails next to the adults where that sick quail was. and none of my quails are vaccinated. should I vaccinate all the quail that might have been exposed? Are my little quail in danger of dying from pox? If a quail is already sick, can it be vaccinated against avian pox?

Do you know for sure it's Avian pox? Avian pox is fairly difficult to diagnose without microscopical examination of the affected tissues, stained to reveal eosinophilic cytoplasmic inclusion bodies.

When there is small lesions present, it may look like they have been in a fight with a enclosure mate, they may have nasal discharges, or lesions on their eyes, causing the closing of one or both eyes. Also may have lesions on feet and legs.. They can also get wet pox, which affects the esophagus, pharynx, larynx, and the trachea.
If you suspect it is infected, they should be separated from the flock, as it is contagious.

There are vaccines available but they are no guarantee it will work, as the various viruses such as quailpox, canarypox, etc, can show a lot of variance from fowlpox virus. A quailpox vaccine is available.

A vet visit is in order to determine the exact infection present in you flock.
