Been having a rough fall with the birds... Now they have white spots on their combs, eyes. Looks like all 4 girls. There are a couple of boils like you can see in the attached pics right above this girl's eye. The girl pictured is shaking her head clearly irritated by whatever is going on. What am I dealing with here?

It might be pox, but the lesions look very pale. Usually you see light beige to tan scabs that may turn dark brown. Bumps around eyes may be on the eyelids. I would try to determine if it is pox or perhaps pecking wounds. Peck wounds can become abscesses if infected. Are you seeing scabs on the wattles as well? It looks like it maybe but they are very faint. Pox is a virus that is carried by mosquitoes, and usually goes away in several weeks. Do not disturb scabs, but treat the eyes with some Terramycin eye ointment if scabs are close. Here is a good article on pox and some pictures below of typical scabs:

Thank you. It isn't as bad as in those pics and others I have seen around. And my pics didn't get the combs too good, but they have some scabbed areas and white areas and a few "blisters" like what is above her eye in the picture I posted.

Mosquitoes have been awful this year. I am 99% convinced it's pox. I'll post more pics tomorrow if I think about it. Thanks again.

There are 2 types of pox-- the dry type with scabs on the combs, wattles, and face, an the wet type which can cause yellow patches inside the throat, and crop if any look especially sick or are not eating or drinking, then look for any yellow patches.
