Yesterday I noticed my 8 month old blue rock hen has a black spot on one of her wattles. It seems like it is on both sides of the wattle. Does it look a little necrotic? Her comb is starting to droop, but she is active, eating and drinking. She hasn’t laid in a couple of days which is unusual for her. Is this pox? Is this blood? One other hen (8 months, blue rock) also has a black spot on one of her wattles. We just added a 4 month old rooster to the flock, which we quarantined for 1.5 weeks and seems in fine health. They haven’t had problems with him that I have seen but the pecking order is shaken up.
