Yesterday i took my hen to a top 3 rated vet in my city (only avian vet)..
And i feel dissapointed, the man was really old and grumpy, rude to myself my partner and his assistant vet.

I took my hen in because she has been really sick in my eyes,

she is lethargic
Not eating as much as usual
Sloppy poop/green
her crop to me seems like it is not emptying overnight when i wake up to check it it is still hard like a ball.

I did also mention that about 1 week ago she was crowing like a rooster, he did not believe me..

He looked at her "just looked" and said this is a very normal healthy looking bird..

She did a poop and he said its a very normal poo.. (but this is not normal for my hen her poo never looks like this)

She acidently pooped on my couch before we left for the vet yesterday so it was a perfect photo opportunity to show him incase she didnt poo again..
But she did in the box at the vet and he said it looks fine.. i said i want the poo tested so he put it in a machine that spins it really fast and he said it still looks normal( no worms or parasites)

He also told me not to ever worm my chickens, he said it will cause them to be immune to worms if they do end up getting them..

I dont want my best friend to die it breaks my heart because i know she is sick.. her tail feathers are down all she wants to do is sleep, she keeps moving in slow motion like she is in a trance aswel..

I am so sorry. I would try to find another vet although I know how hard it is to find an avian vet. You sound like you really know your girl. I pray she gets better.

Any chance she's having trouble from heat?

Do you have another regular vet you use and are happy with? Maybe they could do the fecal float for you even if they don’t actually treat poultry... good vets are precious, I hope your girl starts doing better soon. I don’t have much experience with chickens, but could she be molting?

Im crying right now because i knew i was right!!!

She is not moulting
We are in winter at the moment Screenshot_20190618-083617.png

I have tried to google avian vets but no one deals with them, i messaged a vet close by that may do but they read my message lastnight and did not reply
