Ours is a mixed flock when we're not breeding them. We only separate for a few weeks for breeding.

That's smart! What do you do with mixed breed chicks that broody hens hatch? I want to breed my silkies.

Most of them got homes. Some of the prettier ones we keep now and then though.

No. Not really. There's always people willing to take chicks if you know where to look. There are plenty of Facebook groups for chickens, shouldn't be hard to find some groups for your area.

Yea. Lots of people buy and sell through Facebook. Deals are still done through private message though. You can often find breeds your looking for to.
