Avocado trees near chickens?

We have avacado trees scattered here and there. My wife is crazy about them but can't pick them all. Fruit often fall into the leaf litter and sit there to rot. The rats and our labrador try to sniff them out. It is not unusual to find a fruit that has been chewed on and partially consumed by some animal. I've never noticed a chicken eating them, but they certainly have plenty of opportunities. Maybe it's learned behavior. Maybe they just find avacados replusive like I do.

I LOVE avocados !! I ate them as a young kid and will forever love them (way before avocado toast became a thing )

How did you grow your tree? Did you get one from a nursery? Or grew it from a pit? How old is it??

I know it's a gamble on the trees producing avocados if grown from the pit but I’m still tryin with a ton!!
