Awesome Australorps -- Because "Medium" Doesn't Mean "Boring"

They are honestly my two fav girls in my flock!

Here’s my Miss Amelia. The Australorp is ideal for climates that can get to the extremes. She handles triple digit days in the summer like a champ and doesn’t turn a feather in single digit temps! Not a lap chicken but she’ll follow me around and is easy to handle when I need to. And of course she’s gorgeous!

No photo, because for some reason I can't take a decent pic of a chicken to save my life, but my Pepper seems to be at the top of the pecking order (I have 4 hens - the others are Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red, Sapphire Gem). She's bossy and SO growly, all the time - I would have named her Gremlin if I'd known that's how she would turn out. Her eggs are the smallest of the 4.

Dang, this thread is full of people who can take great photographs! 🤩

One of you should come to my house and take pictures of my birds please!

I have to take so many photos to get one decent one.

I have to assume that being in constant motion is the natural condition of a healthy chicken.
