Here are the awesome egg producers I would strongly recommend: Production reds, Orpingtons, Plymouth rocks, Wyandottes, Leghorns, and Sex-links.
Here are the friendly breeds that are "okay" at eggs laying: D'uccles, Silkies (my two favorite breeds), Sreamas, Sebrights, Rosecombs, and Sizzle.
Those are my favorite breeds.
