Hello I am a typical oregonian farmer. I live on 35 acres and my family has horses, cats, dogs, wild turkeys (who think they are chickens) and my most favorite Chickens. I am a part time Chicken therapist. My cliental is a blind chicken and also a chicken who has a phobia of going outside of the chicken house. The Blind Chicken can see very bright colors. It used to be able to see but then turned blind. So i took care of it and have been trying to provide it with a meaningful life with its disability. In other words, its handicapeable. It can eat on its own but struggles to find the pellets. The Chicken with the phobia of going outside has been making progress. Once in a while i gently pick her up and take her into the grass in the warm sunlight and make her feel comfortable. Its a daily Struggle we take it day by day. Yesterday she came out for two minuets and then dashed backed in. In all i have 40 Chickens and recently just added on with the new arrival of chicks. I have many varieties of chickens, My chickens not only provide eggs but they also provide, companionship, entertainment, and bug control. Farm life is awesome! I am sooo happy i founs this site to share my passion and stories. As you can see my chickens are very dramatic but this my friends is only the beginning of The Chicken Diaries.
