I think 44 total is my limit. My excursion today has convinced me to expand the coop. But for now my 12 x 16 coop will be maxed out with this batch of children... At 4 square foot per bird that's 176 I am at 192 right now. Once the Poultry house is expanded they will have a little less at about 180 square feet. With the different configuration though I can make their "coop space" better suited for Guineas. Resolution here at BYC has given me some insight with layout and enrichment. I will pass that on as I develop the new space.

So Peeps how many different colors do you have now? I mean what are they.

BTW: my little Royal Purples are loosing their shrug sweaters and have ENORMOUS flight feathers coming in. LOL. Looks like they have folded umbrellas tucked under their armpits.

Lmao... yah those lil keetsies go thru such a dorky stage (one of many to come) when they get wing feathers in... they are so heavy and awkward at first, almost looks like they have broken wings cuz they drag em around and they are stickin out in all directions like a bad hair doo day lol.

Let's see, all my different colors, I have um... (oh this is gonna hurt)...

Pearl Greys
Royal Purples
Browns
Chocolates
Cinnamons
Buffs
Buff Dundottes
Lavenders
Coral Blues
Lite Blue (only 1 tho!!!)
Lavenders
Lite Lavenders
Porcelains
Opalines
Whites

And I’m hatching most of these colors in Pieds too (Except the Whites of course)

Yah, 15... I had to go update my profile/sig thingy... I was slackin' lol

The hatch is still going.... dang these long drawn out hatches, makes for a messy messy hatcher and I hate that! Yuck! I am still SO lovin' all these pretty, colorful hatches tho

Kinda hard havin' a brooder fulla keets that are eatin' and runnin' around (and poopin' all over) and then needin' to add the newbies to the mix. I think the newbies can stay the night in the hatcher and go in their own lil brooder in the morning 'til they are up moving around eatin' n poopin' like the rest of their hatchmates, cuz I'm tuckered out for the night

Dude! I love the mirrors! I never thought about using them on the keets.

I love that you have so many colors. I only have a few but am loving owning them so far.

Your babies are precious. I just love the keets. They are such pretty babies.

LoL they love their mirrors, they make them more comfy/calm cuz they THINK there's twice as many of them in the brooder. All my babies get at least one mirror in their brooder.... and my adult pens and grow-out pens have mirrors in them too, lol. Mirrors and Guineas just click, (not cluck!)

I have hatches going on every 4 days or so, and I'm just as excited to see who/what hatches in the next one as I was for the first one

LOL when I put my Tweenagers in their coop I put their mirror in there with them. When they got upset over the work being done they would all crowd around their mirror.... Im ok Imok you ok me ok were ok...... shove aside Yeh were ok.... Lots of jostling and status confirmation.... Teeny rear view mirror for Ten 1.5 lb keets.

Peeps do you ship eggs or babies? I'm still raising my little ones but I have pearl, white and lavender(one maybe pied). I think I want some Royal Purple, any blue and some pied guineas. What do you charge for keets/eggs and do you have a waiting list? I'm planning on getting an incubator this winter so I will be waiting for the 2012 eggs/keets I'm sure.
