here's the set-up. I had 11 silkie hens killed by a neighbor's dog. The one he didn't get was broody, in a box inside the house (dog dug in to get them) anywhoo, she was sitting on a bunch of different eggs. The eggs hatched about 4 weeks ago and i worked on fortifying my pens. So... I have his verrrry lonely Serama roo, that kept trying to get in with the momma and her babies. After I moved mom and bb's into their new house, I finally relented and let sad lonely boy in to the pen with them. I watched and fretted for a few days, but mom and babies perched 6 ft away from lonely boy.... looked like the twain would never meet. So I go out to check on them the other night and it seems..... they have bonded. This little guy is sooooooo happy, he clucks, chirps, struts and loves his new family
