What do you all think so far? Is "Rex" a pullet or cockrel?!

I have been leaning towards cockrel for a while now but this week I'm not at sure. He is right at 6 weeks old

That's a pretty big comb for 6 weeks old. I am also leaning cockerel on him. Sure is handsome!
That's what I thought as well. For the past couple weeks his comb has been bigger than the other chicks I have but I didn't have any other Ayam Cemani's to compare him to.

Cockerel.
He's even got his sun-color-changing feathers growing in.
(I don't know what they're called)

I love the iridescent kind of feathers. I didn't know only the boys have them. Although come to think of it I don't think I've seen a female Ayam Cemani with them.

The pictures of his head are good but we need to see a side profile of his backside. And a picture looking straight down onto his back tail feathers please. You may have to "sharpen" your photos. Need to see the feathers for the above request.

I knew it was iri-something. Thanks for telling me lol.

I'll get some more! I gave up on photos after he poo'd in my hand....

I think females do actually get them, they just aren't as eye catching. I also think they don't develop as fast as they do in males, but I could be wrong. I have two ayam cemani chicks and the female does have iridescent feathers, but they came in much later than (we think male, I should post a thread.) our male did.
