Hello hello hello! I’m Val and I’ve been a crazy chicken lady for about 3-3.5 years.
I got my first 2 red stars back in 2018 and it only grew from there.
I’m currently a chicken tender ( LOL) of 13 mixed breeds hens, consisting of mostly silkies and bantam breeds along with a creme legbar, ameraucana, and a redstar in the badland suburbs of Long Island, NY
. I love my girls and just watching them flourish and be happy brings me such joy and peace after a long day of my actual job. I adore their sounds, each of their specific personalities and quirks, I just love hanging out with them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
I’m a scientist by trade with a veterinary school background so I LOVE animals with a passion and science, as well as playing guitar and music, and I love learning all the time!
I’m also mom to a 2 year old bernedoodle pup, a bunch of ornery fish, and a feisty 2 year old tortie cat. Some say I might have my hands full, but I say it’s never enough!
