Baaawk

My BO hen has been bawking unusual. She hasn't done this before and just walks slowly. Any ideas? Its really long, slow and loud like a regular bawk.

I wouldn't worry chickens make all sorts of noises. As long it doesn't sound gurgly or raspy I wouldn't worry. If it's long and sounds like they're saying "rrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooooock" them don't worry at all! My hens make that noise everyday.

Well I went back into the coop to make sure isn't doing the gurgly or raspy cause I wasn't sure. I didn't hear anything at first but then when I put food out she started making gurgly noises. Oh, dear I should be panicking now, right? I didn't see anything else but she wasn't making the sound consistently. I put her in isolation because when I picked her up I could feel her breathing rumbling. I think something is definately wrong. I listened, watched and handled all my babies everyone else appears fine.

Has your hen been having a runny nose or sneezing? Is she gurgling but her nose eyes are clear? Has it been warm and rainy recently? I'm not an expert but I only know one thing out of those questions but I think it might help other people who do respond. Good luck!
