Wow makes me want to burn mine down and start over. The again I’m not a carpenter, only promise I can say is mine won’t fall down and will not fall apart lol..

Go ahead and challenge yourself! I'm not a carpenter either! I'm actually an IT Exec... with a serious case of OCD apparently that I learned while making this coop. :) Oh and some pretty sweet cordless dewalt tools.

Hahaha I’m an electrical engineer and robotics, I can build a hell of a frame just never could be a finisher lol

You'd be surprised. Plus it is the 100% best excuse to buy new tools. I mean... think of all the money you are saving doing it yourself! It's a little akin to chicken math! Makes complete sense to me.

I'm a soap maker and my husband is an IT tech.. we build things to stay sane and save cash. Its so much fun! We are keeping our current build on the small side as we want to move in under a year ( we hope!!) so a 4x8 split to house the chickens and 2 ducks.. later we want to build much much larger. Temp housing is never as much fun to build.

Yeah temp housing is like... man I want to make this awesome but I just don't want to put too much into it. Just save all your awesome ideas for the non-temp one in a year- it will give you something to look forward to!

yup, good enough but not spending a crap ton. Its going to be solid and decent looking so when we do list our house for sale it doesn't look like a trash pile but we know we will want bigger/better shortly so it won't be decked out. We also want to build it in 2 days so simple is best! The ducks are getting to big to keep in the brooder much longer. I do have a Radiant heat panel and thermostat so I can put them outside once the coop is done, it needs to be done asap.

I'm doing my build with future expansion in mind. I prefer adding on over starting over.
However, I have to keep in mind that my wife's job could move us to another state, so I have to make it desirable enough to find a buyer for it if need be.
I do enjoy building them tho. It's nice to incorporate ideas I get from reading about builds like yours on here.
