A doe thats has been imprint is ok to release, and will be fine other than hunters. Dog if they have been raised with them.
You are right about the DNR if you call them out they will take her and most likely kill them.
I also know someone who bottle fed two one of each, both from the wild. They were 5 months old when someone call the DNR. They didnt charge this lady,because she just had them in a field with a 4 ft fence. They walk out and shot both in front of this lady.
I would of seriously punched the guy in the face right then and there if they did that to anyone's handraised animal. Its cruel, their cruel.
