Babies dropping & dying!

The having to refill their water several times a day is concerning. Seems like an excessive amount of water for ill birds. That's usually a sign something wrong with the kidneys. What kind of feed are you giving exactly? Gamebird starter? Chick starter? Grower?

The babies get chick starter feed, organic, non GMO. They have refused to try other things, like meal worms, high protein treats, fruit, greens. When they did go outside, they did eat grass.

These lovely babies put shavings into their water dish. They step on the dish. So yeah, I refill it often. :)

It didn't feel like they were going through an excessive amount of water based on my experience of raising babies.

I refill 6 additional watering stations during the day, in addition to changing out the babies water.

Watching how much they drink is a GOOD thing to be aware of. :)

Chick starter for turkeys? Not the right nutrition for them. Should be on gamebird starter. Might be contributing to the problem. Turkeys need different levels of vitamins and minerals than chickens, and they need a lot more protein.
X2!

:yesss: For Me...not yes! for the chick.
I'm going back through and reading all of the posts, and in the first poo pictures I see very clear signs of coccidia and/or intestinal issues as well as moderate to severe dehydration.

Additionally, this pictures shows all poults looking chilled and/or sick:

If they were mine I would keep them indoors in a brooder that's at least 80 degrees, and watch for signs of over heating. I would stop giving garlic/acv/syrup, etc, and give plain water with Corid.

These are the amounts to use with poultry. Ignore direction on bag or bottle because those are the cattle directions, not poultry directions.

  • Powder - 1.5 teaspoons per gallon for 5 days
  • Liquid - 2 teaspoons per gallon for 5 days

I would also give them an oral drench:
  • Powder - mix 1/2 teaspoon powder with 2 teaspoons water. Stir well and give 0.07 ml per 100 grams orally for 1-3 days.
  • Liquid - give 0.02 ml *undiluted* Corid per 100 grams orally for 1-3 days
Do this in addition to their medicated water.
