saw that someone put their eggs in a carton inside their incubator before hatching to help with the mess. I did this but wanted to know if it was ok?!

It was Zunibee that posted about hatching in the cartons. Interesting. This time I'm trying the whole shebang in cartons--I'm using them as egg turners. I prop them all up on one side...then go back and switch and prop up the other side to "turn". I got 48 eggs in my hovabator this way.

And, after Zunibee's success, I might try letting the boogers hatch in them, too!!

I have a batch that will be hatching out on the 19th and I plan on using the cartons. All my other batches chicks were running over eggs until the rolled way to the side - all of those died w/ out pipping. In fact I already cut my cartons and have them under the table that has my bator on it so I don't forget.
