Babies have arrived! Pics! And now with video!

I just used my pistol with a laser sight on it to tease my ducklings! Omg how incredibly adorable! I had all 4 of them going in one circle behind each other chasing that light! It feels so cruel, so I only did it for a few seconds, but that was some good entertainment! Lol
Cute you did that. Sweet birds.

We are SO close to just moving outside. As soon as the duck house is finished, they're all moving out. They have about 90% of their feathers now, and they love to be outside. They're coexisting with Peek and Poke... not friends yet, but they tolerate each other. I thought everyone would get a kick out of the happy duck noises in this video. And yes, I'm pretty sure I miscalculated, and Peek and Poke are actually Mallards and not Rouens. The babies are already taller than they are. So, my first guess was correct.
Weeeeeee. They are so cute and I do love their sounds. And they are so big. Where's the time go?

What kind of pool thing is that, it looks like it's supposed to be a sand box, correct?

So much cooler than a bright blue kitty pool. Harder to flip I bet though?

Yep, it's a sandbox that the previous homeowners left here when they moved out. I repurposed it. And YES it's really hard to flip. I'll be using the kiddie pool I'm currently using for their brooder when they move outside.

I REALLY need to try this. LOL

This one needs to go into the dirty duck thread. I was trying to get a picture of the green on her feathers, but she wouldn't pay attention to me because mud.

So tonight they're sleeping in the dark, with the heat in the spare room turned down a bit so they'll get used to it being cooler.

They might move out tomorrow or the next day, depending on when we get the duck house finished. I had a hell of a time catching them tonight to put them back into the brooder for the night. I'd rather just let them stay outside instead of traumatizing them by chasing them all over the pen.

We got all the rest of the parts for the house. Depending on how hubby feels after work tomorrow, we'll probably finish it then. It's not going to be pretty, but it'll hold ducks and keep the critters out.

Keeping them safe is what matters they don't care if it's pretty. and those colors are beautiful even with all the mud. lol

LOL They do love that mud!! My black duck has green tint, too. Soo pretty! Which makes me think Corky may be a Cayuga and not a Runner.
