They love going outside to play and getting some sunshine. They are getting to know the other ducks (although Leonard does not seem to be thrilled) and chickens. The rooster is so funny around them. Red seems like he is trying to protect them. He follows us around and hollers when one of the hens gets too close. Anyway, everyone seems to be thriving finally. My little gal with the messed up foot is finally growing and walking as flat footed as she can. I think she will always have a deformity but she is doing great.

The Runner does not look happy about the new additions.
Yeah she had a hard stare the entire time we were out there. She kept a good eye on them. That is Ginger. She has done nothing but holler though since I brought them in so I cannot tell if she hates them or is intrigued. The rouen lady could care less that they are around.

If she is talking in a deep voice - like if she found something really tasty to eat - she likes the new ones. That was how Nona duck was talking to my little ducklings and she loves to hang out with the Buff Orpingtons today - especially with the not so little anymore drake…
On the other hand Katharina duck was quackering angry at the little ones and today she bites the Magpies and Buffs and gets bitten by the Panzer ducks.
Its a good idea to introduce the new wannabe ducks to your flock as early as possible.
And good to hear that the foot problem has gotten so much better.

Thank you @WannaBeHillBilly . When I was down and feeling like I was going to lose my little special duckling you were so sweet and encouraging and I really appreciated that. I am following your suggestion and trying to get them introduced as early as possible without being in the same pen together of course. Funny thing is Ginger was not really making much noise when we were out there. Just would not quit staring at them and would follow them along the fence line. But is still hollering like she does when she wants attention or snacks. She is usually my sweetest runner. My rouen was making her bitchy noises but then again that is what she always does. She is just a cranky old broad but loves her flock.

so I just took them back outside to play and now not only is Ginger making that deep voice noise but so is MaryAnn. I am going to take this a good news and maybe they will be sweet with them later when they can be together. Ginger would not stop yelling until I took them back outside. Had to come in it started to rain. I am so over this soggy weather.
