Had a surprise this morning...a baby goose is hatched with a second one zipping! I'll get pictures later after the second one is out, and another picture with all 19 ducklings hatched and together!❤

So many adorable duckies!Pictures!! I tried to take pics of the different "varieties" of ducklings...if anyone wants to guess on their genetics, be my guest! (Breeder males are silver appleyard and buff; breeder females are silver appleyard, buff, blue swedish, and cayuga) Also included pics of all 19 together as well as our first 3 goslings!
Right?!?! I'm absolutely baffled that so many hatched! They're the first thing I've ever incubated, so I fully expected a 50% or less hatch rate.So many adorable duckies!
Be proud of that! My shipped eggs I got 11 hatched so far. only 24 eggs of 60 developed. Not that great. Think they got cold maybe.Right?!?! I'm absolutely baffled that so many hatched! They're the first thing I've ever incubated, so I fully expected a 50% or less hatch rate.
19 ducks - set 22 eggs, 3 quit before the second week and the rest hatched. 1 little guy was in an odd egg that I didn't catch until the second week, he took longer and needed help, but is doing well now. Also had 12 goose eggs in the same incubator, 2 quit early on, but currently have 4 hatched and another 4 are pipped. The last 2 were set the 2nd day, so probably won't hatch until tomorrow or the next day.Be proud of that! My shipped eggs I got 11 hatched so far. only 24 eggs of 60 developed. Not that great.
