Yesterday my neighbor brought me 7 baby chicks that were in his back yard. 2 of them were shaking and not as active as the rest. My daughter toile 3 home and 2 died. They were within 4-5 days old. There r brown babies and yellow ones with color on the wings. Could the ones that died been sick or just missing the rest?

They probably died from body heat loss or exposure. New chicks covered in just down do not have insulation that will prevent heat loss, so they become hypothermic and die.

I wouldn't put baby chicks that young in the outside world just yet. They need to be inside until they can properly regulate their body temperature. Like the post above me said, they were more than likely just cold and froze.
