My blue rosecomb hen hatched some babies recently. They all have the same sire, also a blue rosecomb, but we noticed before the hatch that there were eggs that were not hers, at least two other hens put eggs in the nest. So that's fun but not really related to my question which is, how soon after hatching and raising a brood before a hen starts to lay again? And is she always going to be trying to hide the nest so she can brood again?
